The Lost Pixel

Hello World! It is 6AM EDT on Tuesday and I am up quite early again. I guess I woke up around 5:10AM because I was laying there and have some things to take care of this morning and I went to sleep early last night. I am having my morning coffee in RL and sitting in Barcelona in Second Life chatting in a geeky group chat. I think today I will start out by perusing some of my normal morning websites. Then I will do a bit of online job hunting. After that I was working on setting up an Asterisk PBX (Phone System) for myself yesterday and got it to ring in to me and wanted to setup additional features. Then I think I will play with Open Simulator a bit and maybe an afternoon nap! Joe is working today but off Wednesday and Thursday so we should have more time to hang out and he will not be as tired. Well time to start my day….

Yaaaaaay! Look at those new internet speeds in the photo. I am quite happy with that. As I have mentioned before I have Verizon FiOS as my ISP which provides fiber to the home. The BroadbandReports.Com forums have been buzzing the past couple of days about new FiOS speed tiers coming. The pricing is the same as the old tiers for most FiOS regions. Little things like this thrill me I guess. One reason is that I run my website on my own server on this connection and the new upstream speeds will really make the site run much faster for people. Another reason is that I run Open Simulator and this bandwidth boost will make textures as well as other items load faster for avatars entering my regions. I used to be on the 10/2 internet tier and the new speed tiers start at 15/5 which I have now. For some reason everyone is getting much more speed then advertised but I think Verizon is testing out something. Anyway I am getting 25/17 now which is fantastic.

In other news I spoke with Joe around 6:30AM EDT this morning and he was on his way to work. I guess he got up a little later. I have been messing with my Asterisk PBX and that is pissing me off so I will leave that alone for a bit. I am going to prepare to shower now and then go through my employment websites. Hi there! It would happen to be noon and I am doing a little exploring on Second Life. I managed to eat an egg sandwich for breakfast, shower, and apply for a few jobs online. After that I have decided to explore a bit on SL to see how fast things load with these new blazing fast speeds. I have headed off to the 7 Days Magic Bakery sim where you can make your own pies and crap in the magical pie factory. I like to go here sometimes. I noticed that there was a new region next to it which is some sort of orientation thing. So far with more then double the speed I used to have everything loads super duper fast. I mean the second you teleport somewhere all the textures and prims and everything are loaded in 20 seconds or less. This is fucking amazing. Anyway this orientation is for noobs but I am going through it anyway since I have nothing better to do. Just waiting on Joe to get off of work really. I am sorta sleepy from getting up so early so am considering taking a nap soon as well. Anyway off on my adventure and back a bit later….

….Yay! It’s 5PM EDT and I am awake from my lovely afternoon nap. As soon as I woke up I heard the IM thing ding as well as the phone ringing. I guess Joe is off work and is getting something to eat. Hopefully we can hang out on SL because we have not been on there together since Friday night. I think I am having hamburgers for dinner in about 45 minutes and stuff and then maybe we can goof around on there or something. Okie back later….

WooHoo! Finally it is 6PM SLT and I have logged onto Second Life for the evening. After waiting about 20 minutes for Joe’s arrival and returning to the PC my sweetie pie was sitting there next to me. Yay! Although we speak every day on the phone and talk in Yahoo and stuff it is great to be able to hang out on SL. It allows us to kinda immerse ourselves in things and experience things together which is great. We chatted at home for a few hours and then I logged into Joe’s account and got a ZHAO-II-MB2 AO to fix his AO. I copied all the stuff over and placed all his animations in the notecard and it worked well. No more noobie Joe lol. After that we headed off to some club where his friend works and stuff and had a boogaloo there for about an hour or so. It was getting close to 11PM EDT and Joe and I planned on watching a movie so we headed home and got in our jammies and had a cuddle on the couch. I started the movie which was Confessions of a Shopaholic which was a decent movie. It kept my attention as usual and was rather funny. Joe and I got up pretty early so after the movie we had our goodnight hugs and stuff and headed off to bed. Joe is off the next two days so I am excited about that. Well Goodnight World!
